The anteater is a vacuum of nature. Their long mouths with no teeth hover over the ground swallowing all ants and small insects in their path. This animal has adapted to be a black hole to small organisms on the ground of central and South America.
Their tongues are extremely long, reaching lengths of over 2 feet! This long tongue, covered in spike, can reach down into narrow and deep holes to find its prey. One of the things you might not think this animal can do is run. In fact, most of the time these mammals shuffle along the floor at a leisurely pace. However, if scared they can reach speeds of 30 mph!! So if you ever scare an anteater, just know they can catch you.
